Cat No.: GB0270:
One of the very earliest directories covering Buckinghamshire. It describes each town and the main villages in detail, with information about their facilities at the time. Churches, schools, post, carriages and wagon conveyances, etc. and of course lists of all the people with trades. From the candle makers and chimney sweeps through to the doctors, dress makers and inn keepers. An excellent source of very early (pre-census) family history information.
This book was once a part of a multi-county volume, and although the parts (literally odd loose pages) were all obtained separately from different book dealers, we have now been able to obtain them all, and have had the full set rebound into one volume. Very beautiful it is too!
