Scanned in fine resolution and reproduced on CD, this book was originally published in 1884, and contains the text of the Royal Charters of the Borough of Nottingham from 1155 to 1712. The book has a transcript of the original Latin text plus a translation into English, and our CD also contains a facsimile of the 1155 Charter, and has pictures of many of the Seals of the Borough and Mayor's Seals for the period up to 1880.

The Royal Charters form the basis for the laws of the town, some of which are still applicable; and its rights, including those of holding markets and fairs, etc.
