Inquests

Strathalbyn - On the 9th December, 1938, on the body of William Irvine, age 59 years, late of Tailem Bend, caretaker. Verdict:- "I find that William Irvine, ages 59 years, later of Tailem Bend, came to his death on the 26th day of November, 1938, at approximately 7.40 p.m. on the Strathalbyn to Belvidere main road, through being struck by a motor card driven by Henry George Meyer, of Ashbourne, grazier."-(C13186/38).

Apprehensions During the Week

Edith Ince alias Sly (59), on complaint, charged with a breach of the Licencing Act, section 202, at the Flagstaff Hotel, Adelaide; fined £5 and costs 10s. Evidence obtained by F.C.'s Lavender and Shipway. Tried at Adelaide on 23/12/38.-(C.13057/38).
