Content Description: Born in Moravia, David’s family was forced, by religious persecution, to flee their country. He was left in Saxony to complete an education and subsequently rejoined his family who went on to live in Ohio, USA. He chose to become a missionary and serve amongst the Indian peoples. Following the Revolutionary war he again had to flee, with a band of Delawares, from the persecution of the US government, finishing up in Canada where the band members were treated as Loyalists. The latter part of the story is told in the words extracted from David’s journals.
